Home Sweet Home

The girls and I arrived safely in Iowa on Thursday with minor airplane issues. It all started when I printed my boarding passes the morning of and realized that the seats I picked out were much different. Lib and Le were both in the same row but both by the window (not side-by-side) and I was in a different row all together! NO WAY! So, I calmly called the airline and told them it must have been a mistake and to make it better FAST! The lady told me she couldn't do it but IF other people were willing to switch, they could maybe make it happen. WHAT???? I was in stress mode anyway trying to make sure everything was just right so I called Ali and Mary and vented (thanks, by the way!). I felt better thinking nobody would want to sit by a 4 yr. old or 2 1/2 yr. old, or stressed mom in a plane anyway, so they better switch. Mary's idea was to be the 1st on the plane and just refuse to move. :) Anyway, John dropped us off in Detroit and the ticket lady wasn't sure if she could get that many seats switched around (in 2 1/2 hours!) but she finally did RIGHT before boarding. We were introduced to a mom, granny, 3 yr. old and 1 yr. old going to Moline as well. The 3 yr. old seemed like a BRAT, so we quickly said our polite "hi" and sat at the other end of seats waiting and watching his many tantrums. Before, during, and after the flight, we heard the BRAT and the 1 yr. old screaming, kicking, biting, and finally the pleasant stewardess went back to try to calm them down. We waited on the runway with no air for 40 min. Leah and Libby were absolutely fascinated with the airplane part and were behaving nicely. I was starting to get hot and feeling yuck and Leah looked at me and said, "Mommy, mine dunna puke." I had already searched in our row for barf bags, but there were none. I quickly yelled to the stewardess to find me one and I think everyone a few rows in front and back were searching. Leah smiled at me and said, "Mine dunna puke in dat?" I nodded and tried to think pleasant thoughts. Lib looks over and says, "Mom, I think I will need one of those too!" I knew she just probably wanted a bag too, but since I was feeling yuck myself, all I could do was nod and place the bag between them. :( Leah loved the stewardess and with a fun little gesture said, "I dot your nose!" (I got your nose). We finally made it in the air and it was a very "exciting" and bumpy trip. Thank God it was only a little over an hour or we might have had three heads staring into that barf bag! Libby and Leah laughed the entire trip and were VERY excited about the pop and ice. Aren't they deprived? When we arrived in Moline, this is what the waiting area people saw as Lib and Leah spotted "Damma and Poppa". They were sprinting and just filled with excitement. It was so fun. The pics were a little blurry, but you get the idea. I have more pics from the airport and flight too, but it is after 2 AM and I am tired!

We went to a street dance thanks to Aunt Karen in Monticello tonight. The girls learned some new moves and had an awesome time!
