Diamond Dash

About a month ago, I received an e-mail about a contest for a chance to win a $12,000 diamond ring by going on a scavenger hunt in Toledo (kind of like the show Amazing Race). We had to submit a 250 word essay on our love story! BINGO! We won a chance and competed yesterday! David Green (neighbor and newspaper guy) came along and documented it for his newspaper. I had been studying with Kay Johnson (my boss) and made maps, took notes, cut down on eating, ran a few extra miles, and got a tandem bike from the C&W bike shop uptown. They wouldn't even take any money for letting us use it! Buy a bike from there if you need one! They are the BEST! Brandi Boswell let us use her iPhone (WOW, AMAZING PHONE!) and the Stover's let us use their phone w/ internet as well. We had a bunch of people on our HELP list too. Kay's friend, Pat owns a business in Toledo and knows the ins and outs. She helped us a TON as well as Band Guy, Amy, Kay, Pete, Ali, Lisa, and Leddy. We felt totally overwhelmed with everyone being so generous with helping us, we are making a mini dash for the in August. It was an amazing time and sorry if I left anyone out. We are so grateful to have the best (and smartest) friends. How did we do? We didn't win or even up to 6th place, but there were nearly 500 people in it. We answered close to 20 questions correctly (with help) and had a memory to last forever! We're hoping to do it again next year!
